I was from 2010 to 2012 at Arvixe.com.

I took the personal-class and a dedicated IP with Arvixe.com for two years, this was a failure and I lost a lot of time and subscribers.

I red a lot reviews, before I mad my decision, not bad for the company and I thought now I'm right. It has changed in this two years and the only site, which are always yet positive reviews are Web Hosting Jury, all other reviews include the same problems as I have had.

Before I mad the contract with Arvixe.com, I cleared up with the sales department, all important scripts of my site and the functions, especially the email functions, the members I have and the volume I am sending out. The sales department of Arvixe.com agreed and I took the plan and the dedicated IP.

I have not let that agreement confirmed in writing, that was a mistake by me. Arvixe has an other plan that would cover the work which they wanted to sell me two years.

Arvixe.com wasn't capable or didn't want to handle php-scripts with mail functions. Arvixe.com didn't allow me to send a webmail, something new for me and against the contract. Arvixe.com are needed massive words of mine, that they allowed an opt-in on my site through my own responder script, with confirmation mail and sending of the free e-book link. All my subscribers are need to confirm their subscription and my site don't work without this.

The support was to become insane. I am never saw in this last ten years a department work in this manner. There isn't a communication between the support people, who passed my service ticket off to one another and nothing was resolved.

 

Here a review I found of one of the ReviewHost sites. I agree!

Terrible hosting company. Terrible customer support. Terrible communication between the "techs" who simply pass your service ticket off to one another AND contradict each other in the process.

One of their shared servers completely failed, taking a clients site down. For three days. Of course, Arvand claims the server did not fail. After numerous requests and ignored service tickets, they finally attempted to migrate to a new server and reinstall from backup.

However Arvixe could not seem to get the correct php and ASP.Net versions which the site was written under, installed properly, claiming that there was no significant difference between php 4.2 and php 5.3 Really? Now my clients site has been down for a full week. Then they blame my back-up source. OK... so my back-up source is "bad"...fine...how about we restore from your backup, Arvixe? What's that you say? Your say the database backups got corrupted during the "bluebell" server failure (that you told me seven days prior did not happen?)

After ten full days of being jerked around with every half-assed excuse, I pulled the plug on Arvixe. Too bad on the rating system here there isn't negative integers.

Pros: Leaving Arvixe.
Cons: Yeah, they're con men alright.

 

 

 

 

 

The first ticket opened 24 October 2010 was not finished 23 November 2010, perhaps I gave up.

I have a Follow up Autoresponder PRO and this script didn't send.

I have checked mail logs. On 25th, three emails were sent to @ymail.com from your autoresponder with the subjects:

"Irmgard Hartmann sent you an ecard from E-Cards Irmgard Hartmann"
"Irmgard has picked up your card"
"Danke f374r das Versenden einer Postkarte!"

One email was sent on 26th with the subject:

"Irmgard Hartmann has picked up your card"

These emails were sent to @ymail.com completely. The log shows that the mails were delivered.

Hello,

This has already been conveyed that we do not allow mass/bulk mailing from our shared servers. You are broadcasting to 806 members that is considered as Bulk mailing. Unfortunately we will not allow it on shared servers and if it will continue, we will have to suspend the account. If you need to broadcast to hundreds of members, signup for MarketingClass.

I test just something --- I've no idea how you make but the peel and subscribe form of my home page isn't to use?

I subscribed as I seen that two subscribers don't have get the confirmation mail and you really don't sending.

That means you block my business, what means I lose money, fine.

This is an other point I have to clear up, how I do bill this to you.

When you refund the rest of the time, there is no question, I change to an other host, without refund a stick with you.

I read you aup and tos, before I made the contract with you, this 806 members, are double opt-in and internet marketers.

And this also per you, the second and third and also the last one, if you mean, you give your company a chance in this manner, you maybe on the wrong way. I sent, as I said my newsletter now since six years, those are in the last two years all double opt-in subscribers, before there wasn't that in this form, as I also talked with your sales department.

If you first catch the customer with a cheap plan, I told the sales person of my newsletter, and than block the script for to bring this customer to an up-great, that is the perfect art to make business.

You can repeat as often as you want that bulk/spam mails is clearly outlined, I don't feel you talk to me, perhaps it isn't what I send.

This isn't a joke, when I than take this other plan, it is no question?

I agree that this is most definitely not a joke , we take emails in the most serious manner . I would like to help you if you give us a chance to help you , if you want to use our marketing class account to send your newsletter/emails , we would be more than fine with that provided they are not spam emails .

Please let us know how you wish to proceed, did you want to upgrade to the marketing class or do you wish to cancel the account?

I am not seeing this ticket going anywhere, I see it has been open for nearly a month now and we already explained to you numerous times what would need to be done . You would need to either get a marketing class account , or cancel the hosting plan. I do not want to waste anymore of your time going back and forth on what can and cannot be run for certain reasons.

God father, the support of a host decides what to do and what a sales department sold isn't important any more?

However in the moment is for me important that my site is open and the opt-ins on my site receive their confirmation mails.

This was the end for the ticket for my Follow up Autoresponder PRO script, they it have blocked till the end of contract.

You are not allowed to send bulk emailings out of any of our shared hosting plans. There are no exceptions to this and its outlined within our TOS as you've outlined as well. You may wish to sign up for our MarketingClass account at http://www.arvixe.com/email_marketing_hosting.php if you wish to have a separate account and send 1000 emails per our in a bulk fashion.

Bulk Mailings: Bulk mailings of any kind are not permitted to be sent from our servers. This line item applies to mailings sent within the 1000 emails per hour limit as well.

What is with this in your AUP?

We let you send out, but not in hundreds or thousands at once. No host will let you send large amounts in short periods like that, as these are website hosting packages and not bulk emailing packages. What is the specific issue your facing? We will have not received communication from you as to how you would like us to help you properly.

The issues is nothing, I stay with you till the end of the contract, important is for me the site run.

Maybe, unfortunately, you didn't understand what I bring in with my domain, but when I read the chat protocol of this conversation, this person has understand what I have written and it was OK with the amount of sending per hour and also with my newsletter.

After I have paid and installed my files, I tested the Autoresponder with my business contacts from the giveaways, double opt-in, all persons are internet marketers. You didn't sent.

So I had to write, the rest you can read in the support tickets, unbelievable the answers. And you, unfortunately, has an other plan in your program and the six weeks are over.

I stay and take what I have and make it public, in my business list are enough marketers, which are sites, blogs and dedicated servers, that those are careful with you and the best is without written confirmation they do nothing with you.

If we cannot replicate the issue and cannot understand what you mean, I'm not sure how we can help you. What is the problem right now that we can help you and what do you need us to do? *don't take me on a server, which is slow and always down or insecure

*don't say I have to many CPU usage

and whatever the reason can be, that a host suspend a site.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Our shared hosting packages are for hosting websites and for sending personal or business emails, not for large bulk emails to very large newsletters like yours. For such purposes, we have the MarketingClass plan and there are many alternatives online for bulk emailing. If you still would like to cancel your account and receive a refund, please provide the last 4 digits of your password for verification.

As I started with you, I informed you, that I have a list and send a newsletter, there was no problem also the amount of my list members. I send as my subscribers are subscribed and all 15 days. There isn't a sending more than 400/h, all that was spoken and written before the contract was paid and there was no problem.

I make my plans for me, perhaps I am a business man, who make unfortunately this plans in your firm? Lets face it, you want sending also when it is in the frame of your policy 1000/h.

If you would like, we can setup a dedicated IP address for you to send emails from.
This would prevent anybody else on the server, from getting your IP blocked.

Unfortunately, if you want to send bulk emails, you will need to do this with a MarketingClass plan, as
doing this from a shared hosting account is against out TOS / AUP agreements.

Take a minute and think about the situation of your customer, his needs for a small business and what he to for this to keep running.

I don't think you understand this, perhaps you want to sell your other plan.

But I want this other plan, perhaps this is to large for my small business, the only thing what is big is my list, which I have build in now seven years.

If you can't run this, give me my money back and I will find an other host.

Sincere? I also don't believe that you are capable to do this work.

I changed the settings with e@irmgardhartmann and guess, the only mail what came was again to the @ymail.com and always the same the message of an account @verizon that it is temporary disabled, but I didn't send to this email address.

That's show, that you don't sent from my server POP3/IMAP and SMTP, that has nothing to do with development, this is simple the blockage from you of my sending.

As I said, important for the moment is, the site run. The time goes over and than I hope I find a host for my domains, where the customer the customer and the support the support.

More important is for me also, that what is spoken and agreed before I in. is after of value.

The settings you are using are wrong for SMTP Authentication:
@irmgardhartmann.com and franca1950 do not work at:

Please update your password from the control panel to the password you are using.

Sir, we are not your developers and while I understand your frustration I can assure you SMTP authentication works. You can use webmail or Thunderbird or Outlook to verify this. You need to:
1) Create an email account with a password from your control panel
2) Use the email address as teh username
3) User the password as the password

No, we do not advertise making sure your scripts have the right settings or modifying the code. We can provide information to help you, and we have stated many times that you need to use SMTP authentication to send out of the dedicated IP. mail() will send out of the server's shared IP instead.

I just had a long talk with a programmer from ..., he is the same opinion as I, you want run the mail-php which sending from my mail addresses on my server, the same also said the programmer of the autoresponder program. The result is equal null, also with this confirmation of 'test', what you want to do with that is also this two a miracle.

The only mail you send is the confirmation mail for my subscribers on the site, what means that my autoresponder is OK, also you send the ecards of my visiters, what means my eCardmax program is OK.

So if you don't want run the scripts I have installed, you mean you are in law with our contract?

By the way, before I changed to you, I tested the Ecard program on my other domain and it was sending without problem? Only, I don't need two licenses, with a link it is done.

Hello,

You can confirm that the server sends out of your IP by using webmail:
http://irmgardhartmann.com/webmail
username: test@irmgardhartmann.com
password: test

Then you will see the header is using the right IP. Webmail is a PHP script like yours, it shows that your PHP script is not using SMTP authentication. You need to use SMTP authentication to take advantage of the dedicated IP.

Yesterday I did a long search for what you say about php program and dedicated IP. I have a pear.php and a smtp.php in my ecard program. This two files make the connection to my email boxes.
I loaded down from the php forum an example, written for an member, which has the same configuration as I, the file is identical with my mail.php and pear.php.

So what do you mean with your answer, is it as I earlier wrote!

Please would you be so kind to install my dedicated IP in all parts of my domain (server). You really outside of our contract with this kind of handling.

I had this discussion with a host before you, but this host hasn't had so good reviews. Buy you this?

Hello,

I've checked the settings again. They are correct.

If you are going to send emails out from a script (like your e-card program), you need to use SMTP Authentication. You can't use PHP's mail() function as the emails will not leave from your IP address. This method only works for transmissions that are done through SMTP Authentication.

Do you know what I think? You have a problem, you want to sell your other plan and take all actions for this, but this against our contract. You have to run the scripts which are installed on a domain.

So, I tested to sending with SMTP with my E-Card program - guess - nothing came to my test- mail - boxes. So I send again with sendmail and now I have in one box something but not in the second, third and fourth. You see in your email log what I am sending, so I understand, why I have only in one box the test, you know this mail address.

The server is setup so that all emails sent out from irmgardhartmann.com when SMTP authentication is used to be sent out of your dedicated IP. I am still having a hard time understanding your written English, please provide URLs or screenshots or step-by-step how to reproduce the error or problem so we can assist you further.

Let us face it, nobody take a dedicated IP for present inside. This is a normal task someone take for outside presentation, specially for the ESP's. That you as host sold this and than not take for my email accounts of my domain isn't normal.

I want that you for all parts of my server the dedicated IP include, that means specially the email-accounts from my domain, that is all. I didn't order the IP that you don't install that for my host.

I think that isn't a problem or?

I don't know what you not understand, I have only one domain with you with dedicated IP, but I am not surprised about the answer. It is normal for a host which want to do for what a customer had paid as run the scripts which installed on my server.

1)A URL that we can use to test your Php mail sender including all admin login details if needed.
2)An email address and email address password that the sender sends to so we can read the headers once arrived

By the way, I can also change to @irmgardhartmann.com in the program ecardmax, but than I have all return mails from my visitors in my own mailings, what with you normally no problem, you not capable to run my script, or whatever the reason, the time is passing and important is the site is running.

But be sure this will go round. You take money for nothing, I took this dedicated IP for the authentication by the EPS as AOL and so on.

The only question is for me, how you came to this very good reviews, incredible?

Dear Supoort,

I don't know why I purchases a dedicated ID, when my server don't run with this. I don't think that you capable enough to handle a domain with php-scripts, each of my programs has a possibility to sending, now I have my own programs, perhaps Coppermine has no right click protection, but also there my visiters have sent and also in this time each program had his own email on my server.
My server has an own ID, this means my emails ---all--- have my dedicated IP, I paid for this .

So can you please for all emails on my server give my dedicated IP and that just like the begin of our contract.

  1. Clearly, the problem here is that you’re a complete moron. They asked you many times what the problem is, and told you clearly over 10 times that you need to consult a developer to fix your problem, because you obviously can’t handle it yourself.

    If everyone were having the problem that you are, they would have so many support tickets that they wouldn’t have had the dozens of free hours that they wasted trying to help you. Perhaps you’re misunderstanding their purpose: make sure the servers are running to allow technically apt people to utilize it for their needs. Nowhere in their contract / TOS does it say that they need to respond to 75 emails chasing a problem that doesn’t actually exist.

    I suggest you do as they say and hire a developer to solve your problems for you.

    • See, Adam, I had involved my developer with this problem. I was and I am a programer but with Fortran, so I’m not so far from this php material. But with Arvixe it isn’t go about technical problems.
      Read again or read only the begin and the end, this say all, the begin is the experiences of me, the end of an other.
